Having been a fan of Ambush for many years, I have frequented the outlet at the Takashimaya food hall. This was my first visit to the outlet at Plaza Singapura, it most definitely did not disappoint. 

Starting off with the appetizer, my friend and I ordered a Mini Sausage Platter which consisted of grilled mini pork cheese and french garlic sausages served with mustard and brown sauce. I loved how the sausages looked so plump and juicy, so ready to be eaten! The mustard went really well with the sausages, and serving size was just right for the two of us.

As for the second item, we had to try the highly raved about mussels. However, my friend does not have a liking for mussels and prefers clams hence we decided on the best of both worlds, the Mixed Pot - black mussels & white clams cooked in vin blanc and smoked streaky bacon (white wine, onion, garlic, bacon and parsley). It was absolutely delicious! Personally, I preferred the black mussels as they were fat and succulent, and the vin blanc was incredibly tasty. Bacon bits are just genius!

Last but not least, we ordered the Baby Scallop in Squid Ink Sauce Pasta. We had no regrets, best decision ever. I have tried squid ink pastas at many other restaurants but now I can safely call Ambush my home for squid ink pasta. None can hold a torch to this. It was flavorful, and the pasta was not dry like how most places have it, you can even see it glisten. The baby scallop was cooked just right and the fish roe added a lovely touch of color to the darkness.

Overall it was an exciting adventure for our palate, every dish we ordered was fantastic. Great service provided as well. I will definitely return for more!
